​The UAE today participated in the second Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG) meeting within the G20 Finance Track for 2022, which was held virtually. The meeting, which was held under the Indonesian presidency of the G20, sought to discuss the SFWG’s work plan and the progress made on the group’s priorities to date for 2022.Thuraiya Al Hashmi, Projects Manager at the Ministry of Finance, and Abdulla Al Muhairi, Chief Manager – Banking Supervision Departments at the Central Bank of the UAE, participated in the meeting, along with G20 members, invited countries, representatives of international organisations and the SFWG’s affiliated partners.The meeting sought to explore new ways to scale up sustainable finance instruments and discuss the possibility of developing the G20 Sustainable Finance roadmap. Updates on the roadmap progress made by the G20 members and international organisations on the SFWG’s plan were also reviewed during the meeting.The UAE team praised the efforts made to explore means of cooperation among the working groups within the G20 Finance Track. The team also proposed means of expanding sustainable finance instruments, by discussing the transition framework and providing relevant case studies.At the end of the meeting, the members and international organisations participating in the meeting agreed to deliberate the progress made on the working group’s deliverables during the group’s next meeting in May 2022. ​
