The Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) is an initiative by the Ministry of Finance (MoF), launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. To meet the unique needs of innovators, MBRIF offers two tailored programs, supported by a network of experts and like-minded partners across the innovation ecosystem.
In 2016, the Guarantee Scheme was launched to promote and accelerate the growth of innovative companies by bridging the financing gap. The scheme enables access to affordable financing through a government-backed guarantee and without taking equity.
In 2018, the Innovation Accelerator was introduced to offer non-financial, yet essential, support to innovators. This uniquely designed, member-centric program focuses on achieving excellence through a robust support system of mentors and industry experts. Members receive strategic guidance on corporate planning, business modelling, market access, talent acquisition, and financial strategy development to enhance members ability to fundraise with the ultimate goal to create job opportunities and generate a lasting positive impact on the UAE’s economy.
The fund focusses on supporting innovators within the seven sectors of the National Innovation Strategy.
