Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini holds bilateral meetings at World Government Summit to enhance financial and tax cooperation

His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, has held a series of bilateral meetings during the Ministry of Finance’s participation in the World Government Summit 2025, which concludes today in Dubai from February 11 to 13. The meetings focused on economic and financial matters of mutual interest, aiming to strengthen international cooperation.

During the meetings, Al Hussaini said: “The UAE is committed to enhancing its international financial ties and cooperation with strategic partners to ensure the stability of global financial markets. Our efforts to develop our tax and financial systems reflect our steadfast commitment to transparency and sustainability. We look forward to continuing joint cooperation with our partners to foster financial innovation and create an investment-friendly environment to support economic growth,” he said.

The minister began his meetings with His Excellency Dr. Abdelhakim Shibli, Minister of Finance of Jordan. The two Ministers discussed ways to improve cooperation in the financial sector and other areas of mutual interest, as well as how to deepen the strong, fraternal relations between the UAE and Jordan.

In a separate meeting, Al Hussaini met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The discussion touched on EBRD’s activities in the Middle East, as well as the latest developments on the bank’s strategic priorities. Both sides also explored opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The UAE Minister also held talks with Manal Corwin, Director of the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration at the OECD, to discuss the UAE’s ongoing tax reforms and efforts to comply with international standards.

He commended the OECD’s role in fostering global tax cooperation and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to adopting best tax practices and supporting initiatives for tax information exchange.
