Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund
Overview
The Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) is an initiative by the Ministry of Finance (MoF), launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative aims to support the innovation ecosystem and empower innovators to drive the UAE’s transition to a knowledge-based economy—fostering prosperity and long-term sustainability.
MBRIF is designed for visionary founders and innovators who see the world differently. MBRIF is committed to nurturing talent by attracting high-potential innovators and helping them scale, gain market traction, achieve business success, and ultimately shape a prosperous future of the UAE.
To meet the unique needs of innovators, MBRIF offers two tailored programs, supported by a network of experts and like-minded partners across the innovation ecosystem.
MBRIF Programmes
In 2016, the Guarantee Scheme was launched to promote and accelerate the growth of innovative companies by bridging the financing gap. The scheme enables access to affordable financing through a government-backed guarantee and without taking equity.
In 2018, the Innovation Accelerator was introduced to offer non-financial, yet essential, support to innovators. This uniquely designed, member-centric program focuses on achieving excellence through a robust support system of mentors and industry experts. Members receive strategic guidance on corporate planning, business modelling, market access, talent acquisition, and financial strategy development to enhance members ability to fundraise with the ultimate goal to create job opportunities and generate a lasting positive impact on the UAE’s economy.
